Follow the recipe, and combine the classic simplicity of an egg toast sandwich with delightful chocolate bites as a surprise for a creative, healthy, and low-calorie breakfast that's both satisfying and guilt-free.


Ingredients:

  • SPRITZ butter cooking spray
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons chocolate spread or melted chocolate
  • Pinch of salt

Equipment:

  • Glass cup
  • Skillet
  • Air fryer

Instructions:

  1. Prep Your Bread: Start by creating a masterpiece! Lay two slices of toast on a cutting board.  Use a glass cup to firmly press down on the center of the toast to form a circular hole.
  2. Egg-cellent Base: Spray your pan with a light coat of SPRITZ butter cooking spray to prevent sticking. Carefully crack the egg into the hole you created in the toast.  Season with a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat until the egg is set to your liking.
  3. Chocolate Magic: While the egg cooks, spread your favorite chocolate spread or chocolate cube between the remaining slices of toast bread, and press firmly to close them creating a chocolate bite.
  4. Air Fryer Finish: Spray the chocolate bite with SPRITZ butter cooking spray. Place the chocolate-covered bread in the basket and cook for 3-5 minutes at 350°F (175°C) or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Assemble and Enjoy: Drizzle with any extra chocolate if desired, and serve it with cooked egg toast 

Tips:

  • Gluten-free?  Use brown rice or oats toast 
  • For extra crunch, lightly toast the bread before creating the indentation.
  • Experiment with different fillings like peanut butter or Nutella.
